Pharmaceutical Grade CBD Distillate
Pharmaceutical grade CBD Distillates are potent, pure, and versatile. Vantage specializes in producing high-quality CBD distillates that are perfect for use in a variety of products from CBD oil formulations, to capsules or softgels, and topicals or vapes. As an industry leader, Vantage has registered a Drug Master File (DMF #036876) with the US Food and Drug Administration for its pharmaceutical grade CBD Distillate.
What Is Pharmaceutical Grade CBD Distillate?
Pharmaceutical Grade CBD distillate is typically a thick, golden-hued oil with a high concentration of CBD and manufactured to global pharmaceutical standards. These products are made by extracting crude CBD oil from the hemp plant and distilling it to remove impurities and other plant materials. As a result, CBD distillates typically contain around 80% CBD, with the balance made up of minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant oils. This makes CBD Distillate one of the most potent forms of CBD available.
How Is Pharmaceutical Grade CBD Distillate Made?
CBD-rich hemp biomass is obtained from certified hemp farmers. This biomass is brought to our world-class facility, where it is tested for quality and potency. Once it passes our rigorous cGMP compliant testing standards, the biomass is ready to be processed into CBD distillate.
The facility at Vantage Hemp uses two methods of crude extraction: CO2 and Hydrocarbon, allowing us to deliver a wide range of extracted products. Regardless of the initial extraction method, CBD crude oil is winterized to remove any remaining plant materials and waxes, resulting in CBD full spectrum oil (FSO). Finally, the extract is distilled to remove impurities, resulting in pure CBD distillate with a potency of 80% or more. Custom formulations and extraction techniques allow us to preserve specific terpenes and minor cannabinoid profiles through distillation.
In our analytical lab, we conduct internal testing for sample potency, preparation for external testing, and continuous process improvement. We employ an HPLC system to evaluate samples for the full cannabinoid profile. The samples are collected and transported into the laboratory, where composite samples are created and then sent to third-party laboratories for release testing of pesticides, heavy metals, microbial, and mycotoxins, as well as potency testing, to corroborate our internal results.
What Is T-FREE CBD Distillate?
T-FREE CBD distillate has been specially formulated to remove trace amounts of THC from the final product. This results in a CBD distillate that is completely THC-free but still contains all the potentially therapeutic beneficial cannabinoids and other compounds found in hemp plants. THC-free CBD distillate is ideal for importation into highly-restricted markets.
What’s the Difference Between CBD Isolate and Distillate?
CBD isolate has been separated from all other cannabinoids and compounds found in the hemp plant. It is a powdered or crystalline format of -99% pure CBD.
CBD Distillate is an oil. The main difference between CBD isolate and CBD distillate is that CBD isolate is more processed than distillate. To create CBD isolate, further extraction and refinement processes are run multiple times until pure CBD powder remains.
Why Choose CBD Distillate Rather Than Isolate?
Both CBD isolate and CBD distillate have their own unique benefits. CBD isolate, a powder, is more potent and has a higher concentration of CBD with no other terpenes or cannabinoids. This is useful for international trade, clinical research, and for enhancing existing products with CBD formulations.
CBD distillate remains in oil format, is less processed, and retains more of the plant’s natural compounds. It is highly versatile and may be used in CBD oil formulations, edibles, vapes, tinctures, cosmetics, topicals, and softgels. Because CBD distillate retains some terpenes and minor cannabinoids, it may be formulated into whole-plant Natural Health Products.
The Benefits of White Label CBD Distillates
There are many advantages to white label CBD distillates. They enable you to enter the CBD market without investing in your own extraction equipment or laboratory setup. White-labeling allows you to create products tailored to your business goals.
Partnering with Vantage Hemp will give you access to a team of product manufacturing specialists, clinical trial solution providers, and global regulatory experts. By leveraging our extraction techniques and production processes, you will be able to develop a product that is uniquely your own.
What Products Can Be Made With CBD Distillates?
CBD distillates are incredibly versatile and can be used to make all types of CBD products, including but not limited to CBD oil formulations, edibles, topicals, and vapes. However, working with the right partner is essential for developing a safe, effective, and compliant product.
Vantage Hemp is a cGMP (WHO GMP, ICH Q7, FDA 21 CFR 210/211), certified facility. Our team of experts shares years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and new product development. We can help you develop CBD products that meet your specific needs and requirements.
CBD Tinctures
CBD distillates may be used to manufacture tinctures, which are technically alcohol solutions. At Vantage Hemp, and commonly in the industry, we use the term ‘tinctures’ to mean any bottle with CBD drops taken orally. Tincture drops are a convenient and easy way to take CBD. They offer a high level of bioavailability – the body absorbs more of the compound than if taken in other forms.
CBD Topicals
Topicals are absorbed into the skin and may target specific body areas. Due to their high potency and fat solubility, CBD distillates may be used by cosmetics manufacturers to create a variety of different topicals, including lotions, salves, and balms. Many post-workout recovery products are being launched with CBD distillate formulations.
CBD Edibles
Due to its low flavor profile and fat solubility, CBD distillate may be mixed with food-grade ingredients to create various CBD edibles formulations, including gummies, chocolates, and hard candy.
CBD Vapes
CBD distillate vapes are specially formulated to be used in vape pens or other vaping devices. Typically, terpenes are added back into CBD distillate to create flavor profiles and reduce the CBD oil’s viscosity. CBD Distillate oil vapes are cleaner burning and provide higher potency at lower temperatures.
What Are the Benefits of CBD Distillate?
Versatility – CBD distillates are highly versatile and can be used to make a wide variety of products.
Purity – CBD distillate is more potent and has a higher concentration of CBD than CBD Full Spectrum Oil.
Very little odor or taste – CBD distillate has virtually no smell or taste, making it ideal for use in products like CBD oil formulations, edibles, and vapes.
Cost-effective – as CBD distillate is highly concentrated, it is a cost-effective way to make hemp-derived CBD products formulated to your specific needs.
